San Prospero Feast Day 2025 Photos

Below are the photos for September 7, 2025's San Prospero Feast Day.  We were blessed (pardon the pun) to have Blessed Carlo Acutis, an Italian Catholic teenager, canonized by Pope Leo XIV, at St. Peter's Square, earlier in the day.  Saint Carlo Acutis was an Italian Catholic teenager known for his devotion to the Eucharist and his use of digital media to promote devotion to the Eucharist.  To learn more, go to LINK.

In the meantime, enjoy these photos and hope to see you next year!  (Credits: The first three photos were taken inside of St. Rocco's Church by Sharon Paoletta Harwatt, Michele Girardi's (1880 - 1958) grandniece.  The remainder were taken at the Hall.  Thanks to Linda Gianvito Santosuosso.)

History Presentation:  Michele Girardi, born 1880 and died 1958, is related to many of Faetani and Cellese guests who came to the dinner.  He arrived at a time when the neighborhood had the name brick town, from all the bricklayers & saved bricks stacked everywhere!  He built three churches, including St. Rocco on Fulton Road, which still stands today.  His house, which he also built, is just down the street.  He and his wife had at least five children who filled the house.  Pictured on the right is Linda Gianvito Santosuosso.
